The Niagara County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office in Lockport was honored by Donate Life New York State with their Rising Star award. The new award recognizes a county-operated DMV office with the greatest one-year increase in its donor registration rate during Donate Life Month. The Lockport DMV office’s rate increased more than 32 percent for April 2024 compared to April 2023.
Donate Life NYS volunteer Jim Foti Jr., who received a heart transplant three years ago, congratulated Niagara County for having 68 percent of eligible residents signed up to be donors, far above the New York State average.
